Concept:

Map bugs just plain bother me -- especially ones that allow people to break an otherwise great level. Since I know how to fix a great many map errors I try to help where I can. Since I am also a big advocate of promoting better teamwork, I also improved the location strings through out the map. Dave Ewing and I saw eye to eye on these points, hence Orbital-LE. :-)

Thanks Dave,

Version History:

Below are the changes that differentiate Orbital League Edition from the original:

1.02 November 29, 2001

  • Fixed the Hall-of-Mirrors error that would appear in the blue armor room and at other points in the map.

  • Added two blue spawn points to match the number and placement of the red spawns. Corrected the placement of all spawnpoints so that no spawn points are no longer inside walls anymore.

  • Adjusted some of the botpaths for better efficiency.

  • Shorter, location string names.

1.00 April 4, 2001

  • Increased the collision radius to pickup the jumpboots so that Corren can run flush along the wall and not miss them.

  • Thickened the windows behind the flag, by the pulse gun and by the flak lift to prevent flags from being dropped into space.

  • Added glass ceiling below the skybox above each base's rocket launcher and above the redeemer. No more hiding in the skybox.

  • Changed the solidity of the pillars along the 4 curved hallways from Semisolid to Solid. Dave says this should prevent anyone from cratering there anymore.

  • Tweaked the zone portals throughout the map so that the location strings are more precise.

  • Additional Location Strings: Red/Blue Main Base, R/B Lower Entrance: Amp, R/B Upper Hall, R/B Upper Hall: Sniper, R/B Upper Entrance: Goo, R/B Flakcannon Room, R/B Flak Entrance: Mini, R/B Lower Entrance: Amp, Central Room: Floor, Central Room: Ramps, Central Room: Shield Belt, Central Room: Redeemer
